I bought my 98 Dakota Slt brand new in 1998. No major problems with the truck. The only bulbs I replaced are the driving lights. 125K now and not burning oil. This truck does not like performance parts. Keep it OEM and it will last

great mid size truck the drives great pulls anything, will give a sports car a run for the money, no major work done to it in 4 years ive owned, biggest problem bad water pump gasket. overall great mid size truck.

This truck has ok acceleration, has some good qualities when it comes to build and strength, it handles surprisingly well for a pickup, and for those of you that think ...man a full sized Dodge Ram is too much, but for instance a Chevy S-10 is too small this is the perfect size.

Had this truck since new, 10 years! I loved it. Durable V8 engine, the last of the 318's (5.2L). Rock solid transmission. The interior was OK, but it had a lot of options, some even my 2007 Honda Accord EX-L V6 doesn't have.
Smaller compact size outside, but it felt and pulled like a full-size. These trucks were over built, they shared many parts from the full-size Ram.
Overall, I don't think you can go wrong with this truck.

truck was very fast. it had a 5.2 v8. i had it straight piped so it sounded great. it was 4x4 so it was awsome going offroad even though it had stock suspension. it wasnt to fuel friendly. it burned through a crap ton of fuel.
