I purchased this Ford Ranger specifically for good fuel economy, reliability and I always need a truck. It's a four cylinder, five-speed stick, no frills commuter/hauler. It replaced my 1988 Ford Ranger that I purchased new and drove for 25 years! No power options at all (inc. steering), no A/C, wind-up windows, rubber mats with a simple vinyl bench seat. My 1988 Ranger was the most reliable, low-maintenance vehicle I've ever owned which failed me just once in 25 years(starter). The '88 was just about identical to the '97 in that ist also had zero options and had the same drive train. I look forward to driving and working this Ranger for many years to come.

This is a great car. Bought it from a friend and love it! Havn't had any problems with it in 8 months yet. It drives really well and gets me everywhere I need it to. It's a simple basic car but can't go wrong with it. It's a ton of fun to drive

Performance of this truck is acceptable. It has a 2.3L I4 and a 5 speed manual transmission. acceleration is a little lacking but brakes awesome and handles well for a pickup truck. build quality is amazing i have never had to do anything but change the oil and all 8 yeah 8 spark plugs. Appearance is great i love the way these trucks look. Gas mileage is awesome average 26 MPG

For being a regular cab and a 4-cyl, it was a pretty good truck. Ran great, looked good. It handled pretty good too.
