The Audi 90 enters its last year under this name with few changes. In 1996 it will be repackaged as the Audi A4. The 1995 Audi 90, what Audi called its "entry-level" family sedan, was a very popular car for its performance, durability, and its interior options. Though a little smaller than the roomy Audi 100, it is a great starter car that doesn't skimp on high-end comfort.
The 1995 Audi 90 changes its trim names slightly. The base sedan is now STD, but still comes standard with a 2.8-liter, 172-hp V6 engine and 5-speed manual. ABS brakes, front side airbags, cruise control, air conditioning, and power windows and locks are all standard. The new Sport sedan, or Sport90 is basically the old CS, with a lower sports supension, fog lights, center console, and leather trim. The quattro is an AWD version of the sport sedan without the retuned suspension. A 4-speed auto tran is available on all but the quattro model.
To say owners love their 1995 Audi 90 is an understatement. They love all the standard features that are usually only options on other cars. They love the way the Audi handles, crisp and precise. They love the quattro AWD, how it hugs the road no matter what conditions are thrown at you. They love the heated seats option. Some feel the Audi 90 is not big enough for a large family or for more than four average-sized people to fit comfortably. Some want more horsepower, because initial acceleration is labored. Everyone wants cheaper parts and repairs.
4.3 Overall rating
(11 reviews)The car is a good commuter or mountain car. It has solid performance while being a bit unassuming. The handling and traction in wet and snow is marvelous. After 185k miles it is still strong and annual upkeep is manageable.
This car is a blast to drive. The quattro all wheel drive is confidence inspiring to say the least. Comfortably takes corners at DOUBLE the recommended speed. Mine has over 225,000 miles on it and is still running strong. Overall a fantastic buy.
it's an old car, but it's a very well built audi. The quattro system is great in snow and on mountain roads! It's not as expensive to maintain as people think! Do your oil changes and regular service and it'll be your friend!
its a good car overall i only use it as a winter commuter. the all wheel drive works great. only running all season tires that are slightly worn a little and still do not loose any traction whats so ever.
fast car usually reliable but when one thing goes then another thing follows and very hard to find parts because rare car and parts are expensive
