Used Honda Passport for Sale near San Jose, CA
Honda entered the SUV market with its new 1994 Honda Passport. It's quite like Isuzu's Rodeo, which makes sense since it's designed and built by Isuzu. This may also explain why its body-on-base truck-like design was used, which is good since it makes for better suspension.
The '94 Passport comes in both 2WD and 4WD models, and three trims. The DX comes with a 2.6-liter, 120hp, 4-cylinder engine. Both the EX and LX models are a bit more powerful with a 3.2-liter, 175-hp, 24-valve, V6 engine.
Cons, according to owners, include a ticking noise caused by the valve lash adjusters and a short wheelbase that makes it difficult to regain control of the Honda Passport if you begin to slide.
But drivers do like many things such as the Passport's great towing ability (at about 4500 pounds), along with it being durable and tough.

(6 reviews)Performance? Fairly slow, but it is a 3500lb SUV with a 120HP 4-cylinder! Good thing it has a 5-speed. Build quality is fairly solid, I expect it from a large truck manufacturer like Isuzu. Cheap to maintain, and good on gas!
Its a beast and can get through what a full size truck can. the frame rotted through on both sides between the rear leaf springs. lifters tick. Has good acceleration and power but it has an isuzu engine and not a honda which threw me off.
love the suv. wont get rid of it ever one of the best 4 wheeling rigs ive ever had. motor is a little hard to get around in to work on. thinking im going to convert into a manual trans
This is a great vehicle. It is good quality and asthetically pleasing. It some times seems like it is lacking power but when you least expect it it comes through. 17mpg. I love to drive this vehicle and get it dirty.
If you're looking for a sports car this will definitely not satisfy you but if you are looking for a car that will be able to hold its own on the road you will be satisfied. I enjoyed this car while I owned it. Gas mileage was quite weak hovering somewhere in the low teens but this truck never let me down. I was driving home in snowstorms passing F-150's and Silverados stuck in ditches. It had many strange creaks and rattles but every one of them was just an excess tolerance and with 180K on the odometer was to be expected.
