Overview

The 1988 Toyota Supra changed very little from the previous year. The Supra Turbo-A was introduced this year. This extremely limited edition, with 267 horses, was designed to compete in Group-A touring car championships. Only 500 were made.
The 1988 Toyota Supra came available with two engine options: the 2.8-liter, 200-horsepower or the turbo-charged 230 horsepower engine. It only came in one body style, the liftback. Fuel economy was about 17 to 23 miles per gallon.
Drivers love the looks and performance of the 1988 Supra. It is a popular car for racing, with many owners adding their own customized modifications. Some drivers complain about the tiny backseat, rust issues, and the car’s heavy weight.

Performance- the bottom end on these cars are virtually bullet proof. You can do many bolt on upgrades more than doubling the stock horsepower and the internals will take it. Build Quality- the car is built solid. ive done minor repairs to the car besides its regular maintenance. the car is still running like new with 206,000 miles on it. Appearance- the car has an aerodynamic and sleek look. i really dont like the taillights on the car but besides that the car is awesome. Overall i love the car and it is very fun to drive.

I bought it knowing full well that it likely had the notorious blown head gasket. Sure enough, it was well on its way when I got the car. I wasn't too concerned about that since I was planning on a rebuild anyway. I chose this specific one because it was for sale by the original purchaser. That's right, this baby is 23 years old, and I'm the second owner. It also had a mere 119 000 kms on it when I picked it up for a sum so small, it would make your head spin.
