The car sat for 2 years then, I bought the car for $350 put $200 in to it, now it runs great. I have put 2000 miles on it and the odometer now reads 334500 miles. Now have a great fondness for this car. I would not hesitate to buy it again.

This car was my first car, when i was 17. It was obviously handed down to me from my parents that bought it new in 1987. It was definitly not a sports car, because it sucked at handling, braking and engine power. But it had other attributes that no other car I have had ever was equipped with/able to do. It only had a 1.5 litre carbureted 4 cylinder engine, but was equipped with a 6 speed manual trans and a separate manual engaging 4WD system. This car NEVER GOT STUCK ANYWHERE PERIOD. As well as its reliability (being a toyota), the 4WD system in this car was better than any 4WD on any car I have ever had or driven. This was a great first car, BECAUSE it was SLOW. The reason it was good for being slow, was obviously 1 because I was a teenager and the car had a top speed of about 100 if I was lucky. But the main thing, was that because it only had a 1.5L engine, it was so slow that I had to learn to drive stick so hard and so fast just to keep up with everyone else, that it definitly gave me the training I needed for cars to come.

Costs and repairs on it are cheap and far apart. It has some rattles and squils like a pig but it's a solid car and it's pretty light. Not the best looking but it's cheap to drive and of course it's a toyota.
