Overview

The 1985 Dodge Colt adds a more sophisticated 4-door Premier sedan to its lineup of hatchbacks and Vista Wagon. The E and DL 2 and 4-door hatchbacks remain unchanged, as does the Colt GTS turbo 2-door hatchback. Base engine has changed to a new 1.5-liter, 68-hp, 4-cylinder with a 4-speed manual transmission. A 1.6-liter, 4-cylinder and 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder, 88-hp engine are also available. While 4-speed manual is standard, there is a 3-speed auto option. The GTS features a 5-speed manual twin-shift.
Though the 1985 Dodge Colt is practical due to its affordability and commendable 23/30 mpg fuel economy, the GTS can also be a lot of fun to drive and modify. Many Colts were raced on the rally circuit, and the GTS proves to be a likable sports hatch.
