The Pontiac Fiero was GM's answer to rising concerns of fuel and emission standards. The 84 Fiero lacked performance, only available with a 2.5L inline 4 cyl, but could average around 35 mpg on the highway. What the 84 Fiero did do was prove to GM that America was ready for a new kind of car.

Fiero was a great little car, although it was a disappointment when it came to performance. It was underpowered (to my expectations) and didn't handle all that well. All that being said, I wonder if anyone has been able to "juice" theirs up and perhaps even improve the handling with more up to date products?

performance: no power at all the 2.5 inline four was pathetic. Build quality: cheap plastic interior so it cracked. Appearance: looked cool and unique Cost of ownership: Needed lots of work at only 70,000 miles not reliable. Fun Factor: Never got to drive it much it was always broken.
