i bought it to learn to drive in for $400.00 back about 5 years ago. everything needed fixing on it but the last owner thrashed it beyond belief. after putting it on the road i leaned how awesome mazda where at making cars. the acceleration was crisp and you could always count on it starting. it was ok on fuel but as soon as you took it on the highway it was amazing. mine needed work (the carby butterfly shafts where leaking and cylender #3's oil scraper ring was gummed up, letting oil pass through the combustion chamber) and it managed to get 6.8L/100km and the motor had over 200k on it the breaks wold of been so much better with 4 wheel disks but for what they where it all worked well. the steering was amazingly direct even with normal tires. my car had paint work that could of benifited from a few rattle cans but ive seen a few in great condition and they are great on the eye. the engine has a great note with a bit of exhaust work and even the interior was pleasing on the eye. aside from the colour choices (brown, plum and blue) if black was an option that would of been 100% better all in all if i could of found one in great condition i would of bought it. and kept it for ever.

This was a great car, we bought it used in 1988 and took lots of road trips in it, appreciating the sunroof and air-conditioning
