It is believe it or not a car to be taken to car shows. It is no longer a daily driver. Mechanically parts can still be found body parts can nearly be impossible. If you find a decent one in good shape buy it and have fun. If you are thinking about buying one to make a show stopper out of think twice. While the intial price will be cheap you will have more problems and will end up costing you more than a Mustang. I have one that was my mothers that is fair but not a show stopper. I have lots of fun with it but I have way less than a $1,000 in it.

My first car ever! I pushed it to its limits driving over mountains and sliding on ice...had no complaints at the time, but little experience with other cars...except a Ford LTD wagon my parents drove...not a good comparison. Most consider the Gremlin a laughable looking car. I didn't care, it got me where I needed to go. I called it 'Babe' after Paul Bunyan's blue ox! Gas was cheap then so I could afford it despite being a working student...I had a lot of fun in that car and enjoyed the freedom of not having to hitch rides wth fellow students whose educational priorities were different from mine!
