ok it was not a 2002 it was the 1600. It ahd one sidedraft solex carb. I worked in a custom foundry at the time so I cast up a intake manifole for dual 1.5 inch SU's. It was a lot more fun after that.

Excellent pocket rocket, really light, and very fast, superb handling. Apart from being 40 years old it still delivers, and delivers a lot, 0 - 60 acceleration in under 7 seconds, i must add that my version is a 2002ti Alpina, which is the best performance model. As BMW says, sheer driving pleasure.
