While mom stayed at home with Kathy, Bud, and Princess, father knew best by enjoying his suburban commute in the top-end 1960 Pontiac Bonneville. Billed as the only wide track car on the market, the more than full-size Bonneville tried to offer a combination of luxury and performance. It came in all variety of styles -- a Vista sedan, convertible, coupe, and Safari wagon. Powerful 389 block Tempest 425 V8 engines with either a 4-barrel carb or the TriPower carb delivered plenty of 300-plus horsepower matched with a 4-speed Hydramatic auto tran.

The innovative wide track, introduced last year, pushed the wheels out to the sides to increase stability and cornering capabilities, as well as room for the kids and Toto too. The 1960 Bonneville got a new grill that ran the full-length of the front-end, bookended by two sets of two headlights and new parking lights. Standard interior features included walnut trim, plush carpeting that extended up the door panels, and vinyl Morrokide seats. Leather came standard with the convertible. The Safari wagon had a roll-down back window.
