First Ford We Ever Owned (updated April 2016) — April 2016- It has been over two years since we bought this Ford and we have been very pleased with this car. There has been no issue with repairs. I have done two oil changes, rotated tires and maintenance checks as scheduled. There was one recall that was taken care of when the state inspection was preformed at the dealership. Feb 2014--We were looking for a car to replace our 12 year old Buick LeSaber, +150K. Our Daughter purchased a used 2010 Ford in 2012 and we were very impressed with the car. So when it can time to replace the Buick I went back to our local Ford dealership. As it turned out there was a used 2012 Fusion with only 6459 miles on it. We test drove it and bought the car on 2 Jan 2014.

Pros: We like the car. Great gas, nice ride. This is the first Ford we have ever owned.

Cons: Back seat head rests block the rear view. New Federal rules for back seats.

2012 Ford Fusion Se — This car is wonderful. I enjoy driving it every day and even with only being 2 years old and having 92,000 miles on it already, it still drives like it is brand new. Handles great and has fantastic commuting capabilities. I'd rate the car a 4.7/5!

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: This car is amazing! No complaints about how it drives. Great power. Awesome daily commute. Car is reliable, stylish and affordable. Gets 28 city/34 hwy mpg which is absolutely great if you're on a tight gas budget!

Cons: My only complaint is that it doesn't have an auxiliary cord plug in for iPods. You can Bluetooth your phone or iPod to the speakers, but it doesn't always produce the greatest sound quality.

Best Car I've Ever Owned — Bias disclosure: My family has 5+ individuals who've worked for Ford over 30 years. I'm an Engineer who has worked at another car manufacturer and still work in the automotive industry (exterior lighting). That being said this vehicle has only needed replacement tires, one set of brake pads up front, one left rear tail bulb and oil changes to keep it running for 90,000 miles. Compared to my previous car, a 1997 Lincoln Continental, the Fusion has been equally, if not more, trouble free. And it averages 35 mpg versus 20.6 mpg for the Continental. That has saved over $6000 in gas over 90k miles. Other than wanting to own a plug-in capable Crossover/SUV/small Crew cab pickup, I'm not sure why we would buy a different car. In fact we plan to get a Fusion Energi next. I'm not thrilled with the Dealer Service but I'm also not sure there are many options out there for any other brand either.

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Reliable, Easy to use, Good Gas mileage, Low maintenance, Good sound system and driver interface.

Cons: A tad slow on the on ramp.

Don't Pass Up The Ford Fusion — I used my ford fusion for everyday travel and it is a very dependable car. Very easy to clean up and stays clean. And you can even pass up some gas stations with the amount of miles you get per gallon.

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: This car gets great gas mileage and handles very well in all weather.

Cons: This car is not favored by tall people, like my husband.

Solid Competition — My first impression when looking at it is a some what aggressive but conservative. It looks like a big car and it is for a midsize car. The materials in the interior are nice all around. I would prefer leather but the cloth seats are good. They are comfortable seats, i never get fatigued on my commutes and plenty of room for a six foot guy to stretch out. I think someone taller would have no problem either. Road noise is a minimum and the suspension smooths out the road nicely. The engine has a nice aggressive V6 sound when accelerating hard. Every day driving the engine is smooth and quiet. I feel the car has a little to much roll and dives easy when braking hard. What surprised me the most on this car is the gas mileage for such a big car and being a V6. The most I recorded is 32 mpg, but I usually average 29-30 mpg. I would highly recommend this car to someone that wants a great car for commuting and still big enough to haul family around.

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Good looks, Great gas mileage, solid engine with plenty of power.

Cons: I traded up a lexus is250 so the car is lacking compared to a lexus but that is like comparing apples to oranges.  Other than that I think the car is great!
