I bought a porsche boxter last october i think october 13th and lost the only key shortly after and do not live anywhere near a dealer so what i got to experience of it was nice .It is a coupe and in very good condition for 2000 .I wish i knew about this whole porsche thing where no one in the world can key it but a dealer and i cant find any parts for it .I have read so much info i have decided to re key it myself .i am going to take out and dump the eeprom then unlearn the transponder so i can reteach it to my car.
Ill let you know how it turns out...Im not a car person but im a somewhat of a gray hat so ill give it a try .Aug 22, 2022

Excellent choice for a modern sports car experience. Check the IMS bearing history, maintenance records and buy a boxster with no accidents. These are affordable classics with excellent driveability.May 08, 2022

This model car is for persons experienced with Porsche ONLY.
It has some serious mechanical flaws that if left unattended will cause VERY expensive damage.

The Porsche Boxster is perhaps the best sports car made. At least the 1997 to 2011 are. Anything later is bigger and do not have that sports car feel when driving All I can say is drive it and you will not want any other car. I always say if a car is not fun to drive it’s not a carDec 10, 2021

My best handling cars have been 64 Lotus Elan, 85 Ferrari 308 GTS QV, and 2000 Boxster S that l sold because it had Tiptronic. I sold my 2013 Carrera S cabriolet, a fine GT car, and looking for 2000 or so Boxster S with 6-speed manual, a fine sports car and excellent value.Apr 08, 2020

I have loved this car for 11 years. It is the fourth Porsche I have owned and is one of my favorites because of the style, handling and power. The unique color is also a major plus which made me fall in love with it.Aug 13, 2014

I love this car i know alot of people rather have the 911 but i think the Boxster is a great comprimise. You get the looks the sound and feel of the original Porsche sports car with out the hefty price tag. If you opt for the S model you will get even more out of this fantastic mid engine car.Apr 03, 2014

The Boxster light, nimble and perfectly balanced - everything you would want in a sports car. Porsche quality is also exceptional. This is a near perfect sports car for the enthusiast. Only negative is the 250 horses. It would be nice to have more power, but then why would you want a 911 ? The car is built to drive topless on sunny afternoons.Oct 31, 2012

The 'S' model of the Boxter is an all-around better car than the base model not only because of the extra engine size, translating to higher horsepower and torque but also because of the bigger brakes and the six speed transmission.
Yes, you do give up a minimalist back seat (suitable for the under 8 set) that comes with the 911, but you get a true roadster look and feel in the bargain. Unlike the 911 convertible that, in a pinch, can serve as a family second car, the Boxter S is a full on sports car with no allowances for extra riders. If you want to haul around a bunch of friends or the wife and kids, this is not the car for you. If, however, wind in your hair and an attachment to the road that feels almost physical gets your adrenalin surging and you can manage to ride duo or alone without it causing social pain, this just may be your ultimate ride. If you like to feel you drive and enjoy quick responsive braking, steering and acelerating and shifting then this is the car for you. It can be too much car for people who prefer less road noise and more comfort and less road feel.May 20, 2012

The Boxster S is a great car. I love the way it handles. The engine has good power and the clutch/gear box works smooth as silk. I have owned many sports cars and the Boxster S is easily the best handling and most fun you can have for the money!

transmission. It has a brand new top with a
glass window. The motor has 30k miles on it and
113k on the rest of the car. It is a blast to drive

Porsche Boxster 2.7 Convertible. Lovely Car in Black, with a
green leather interior (the interior looks a lot better than it
sounds!) Drives really well, a lot of fun for the more spirited
driver!! Experience in rear wheel drive cars is recommended
as the 2.7 6 cylinder boxer engine can make the back end
quite lively, due to having no traction control (I think this was
an optional extra) despite the perfect weight distribution of

Slower than i want it to be. Perhaps an S or a 911 would do the trick. Petrol is getting more expensive again so economy could be better but the heavy right foot won't lay off. Buy one for fun.Sep 11, 2009

The car responds like a Porsche. Very few cars drive and feel this way, provide this level of performance and still remain comfortable. Too bad the car kept breaking with little stuff and add in a really crappy dealer experience in Buffalo NY, it wasn't worth keeping.Jun 20, 2008

It felt cramped, it didn't get up and moved like I think a sports car should, and the final insult is that it sounds like a leaf blower when driving down the street. Mid-engined layout makes for amazing handling and balance. More naturally poised than a 911.
3.2 litre has plenty of everything.

I loved this car until I killed it, then I fell more in love with my next vehicle the Pajero Evolution. A fantastic summer car but also nice on those crisp winter days with the heating on flat out and a hat!! I didnt like it in the wet though, as found it skittish.Jan 08, 2008

Excellent weekend/performance sports car for a bargain. Will outperform any car in its category given similar trim levels. This roadster is meant to be driven hard and meant for the driver that wants to feel the road. You will feel every groove, bump, and crack in the road. Significantly cheaper than its older brother, the 911, the Boxster still delivers speed and agility comparable to the Carrera. Dec 26, 2007

Check Engine light
The Check Engine light comes on at 1/2 a tank of gas. It goes off shortly after refill. The engine runs fine. No skips or roughness of any kind. the only thing that I feel may be off is that the exhaust smell a little rich.
