Generally A Good Solid Work Truck. — I've had this truck since 2005, now 9 years. It has 106,000 miles on it, about 60% off-road. (Its a 2005 model, the box above wouldn't let me put in 2005.) All the light weight plastic has fallen apart, but its still comfortable. The side mirrors are too small to see close up while backing or making a tight turn. its hard to maneuver in tight spaces because it is long, and everywhere is tight here. I have rebuilt or partially rebuilt the front end 5 times now. The roads here are terrible, but it seems they could design a heavier duty front end. Generally the limited slip works well, but it has left me stuck a few times. I once had to leave it in the field for 3 weeks until I could get it out. The front wind guard fell off 7 years ago, and the front rock shield has been chewed to pieces and fell apart this year. The aluminum transmission guard is dented such that I had to have it rebuilt. But I haven't had any undercarriage damage, except one rear shock mount that is bent backwards. But otherwise, the truck has never let me down. Engine and drive train are the best - bar none. If you keep it on the road, you'll never have a problem.

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Pros: Lots of power. Super strong Duramax diesel and Allison Transmission will pull anything. Very roomy.

Cons: Plastic interior and exterior moldings have all broken or fallen off. I've rebuilt the front end 5 times, and changed both front hubs. I would like to have locking hubs. Side mirrors are too small.

Would Buy It Again — Bought it brand new and it has been a very reliable vehicle. I would definitely buy it all over again. I highly recommend this unit. It is roomy and powerful. This truck does great in the snow also. Its a great four wheel drive.

    Primary Use: Family transportation

    Pros: Reliable

    Cons: bulky

I Wanted Her So I Bought Her — Bought a few motorcycles in my life, but this was the first truck I bought. This may turn into a lengthy review because I was really expecting something more on the lines of the stereotypical sleezy salesman being quite pushy, but that just wasn’t the case. I got to check out their trucks without the salesman following me around, ( or as my dad calls them “the vultures”). I was shocked how easy it is to test drive cars. I pretty much just went inside and told the guy which trucks I was looking at they just handed me the keys. For some reason I thought that they would want 3 forms of id and proof of residence or something. But they just trusted me, which allowed me to trust them, just a little, as well. I like the performance and I like being above all the other cars on the road. Not to mention now I can put my motorcycle in the bed.

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: I've always liked trucks and owning a Chevy 2500 was something I had to do before I died.  Plenty of space for my wife and the kids.  I really like that it had a flip down DVD player for the kids to watch.  The cargo space is great, but a long bed would have been my ideal choice.  The 4x4 is great for us since we live in Tahoe.

Cons: I wish the truck had come with a performance tuner, but I guess I'll pick one up later down the road.  I also wish the truck had come with new tires, but at least it has aftermarket 20" rims.

Chevy 2500 2wd — it runs great but could use a true rear end so both tires move together for better pulling and more wight in the back. Also you should have the stock hight a little taller to for better pulling and hauling.

Pros: good power i beat the hell out of it and its got 311,000 miles on it still runs great

Cons: i got out pulled by a ford 150 and that pissed me off.

Factory Warranty Should Be Reviewed For Chevy Owners Take Care Of This — Love everything about my truck but warranty on injectors s___ks !!! chevy owners work has hard as their truck. Chevy Is America don't let us down!!! Certified mechanics need to be proud of their work don't just change out four injectors and call it a total job. last warranty work done on injectors by certified mechanic was half ass at best. Look for a shop to trust. only a few out there make the rest look really bad.

Pros: I owned a 2000 dodge 2500 longed . That truck was very nice but this'02 2500 silverado is the best overall vehicle for me. 300,000 miles and going strong. Need injectors again but. I would not trade this truck for 5 fords. A Dodge, nice truck now  But Chevy is nothing but Dependable, rugged. comfortable and power. I got a great one.

Cons: warranty should pick up the price for a set of injectors they go out every 95,000 miles

If You Want A Truck But Don't Need The Size, Look A The Dakotas. They Are The Small But Tough. — A whole lot of horses and not that much of truck. It can haul more then you think. It also can be a great performance truck without doing to much with it, in my opinion. Just be careful, my didn't have too much weight in the butt and it liked to burn rubber on the drop of the hat.

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: smooth ride and a lot of power

    Cons: not very good mpgs

Its A Awesome Truck And I'm Glad I Own It — accelerates good for 20's, brakes great, and handles great. its all good quality wise. appearance is good interior wise a few spots on the dash exterior has a couple of dents. Gas mileage is good as long as you don't put too much foot in it. The truck is a blast being up high, and its gonna be great when the mud comes.

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: the reactions you get when you drive by them

Cons: I'll drive right over your ass
