1999 corvette glass top coupe. New radiator and fans run but it started running at 220/225 degrees coolant. Oil 218/220. Transmission 218/220. Should I be worried?

The car had a cassette player not a CD, passenger seat not power, no magnetic ride, seat memorey are a few things that didnt warrent the price they were asking, the miles were good.Nov 24, 2022

If well maintained, its a very good experience. Interior is better than expected and the torque down low is crazy good. For the money its a very good performance bargain. It comes very close to a used miata in that regard.
In the performance bracket, Id compare it to a rwd 996 carrera. The 996 is supposed to be a better handling car but its not by much.Sep 03, 2022

For me the car is a good value,gas mileage was much better than expected but I drive conservative,I miss not having a touchscreen radio, but can be replaced, not a lot of bells and whistles, but just enough to enjoy the car,I actually use the car to commute, its a great year to be able to afford a Corvette.Jul 03, 2022

I bought this car! Its a vintage classic. I bought it for a toy second car and it fits the bill. A car of this age has quirks and Ive only owned it a day. But I look forward to getting to know her and sprucing up the little things that will make her exceptional! I love a manual trans and convertible and this is just enough of everything. I chose this car (my 5th Corvette) because I've always appreciated the low ownership costs and high performance limits and potential. I bought my first C5 at 18 years old nearly 9 years ago. In the beginning i would daily drive them. But because I choose to only own a Corvette with a manual trans it can be tiresome so I've switched my Corvette to weekend/fun duty only. One notable attribute is the potential gas mileage. On a 2-hour trip from LA to San Diego i achieved 35+ MPG avg 70-75-mph. I will always love the user friendly, simple ownership experience. If I had a wish list of improvements it would be better seats, interior build quality and entertainment system. Other than those things (which aftermarket can correct) its a wonderful car.Feb 10, 2015

This is the Best Corvette that I have yet to own. I have loved Corvettes all my life and this is the 2nd one I've owned so far. It is fun to drive, runs great and has had minimal issues, Its also a head turner. The LS1 engine has plenty of power. The car has excellent handling and great fuel mileage when driven easy, I constantly get 30-32 on the highway. I'd highly recommend the C5 to anyone looking for a fun car to drive that can be a daily driver and a weekend toy!Oct 31, 2013

Driving it is a thrill! It is a definite super car for under $20,000! Acceleration immediately causes the back wheels to go off veer and then back straight. It is quite a sight and feel to drive this Blue Ghost. Its an amazing car all around.Apr 30, 2013

This vehicle is a screaming meany. But, I do have to admit that the C6 models are alot faster and offer a smoother ride. But, if you are looking for a little more budget minded entry price into the world of vettes, this is it. Turns heads everywhere that I go.Nov 13, 2012

1999 corvette with a 6 speed. Borla exhaust with no mufflers , cold air intake , no
other mods. Low maintenance cost , not much has gone wrong. Had a fuel leak at
one of the sending unit bolts. used an o ring as a washer and stopped the leak.
Glove box latch broke. Key fob stopped working. no other problems. I drive it
almost every day as a daily driver. Gets between 14 to 17 mpg city and gets
between 27 to 33 mpg on the highway depending on speed. I have gotten 33 mpg

The 1999 Chevy Corvette Converible is an awesome driving machine. It handles well at low rpms and is disciplined. At higher speeds the covertible corvette entices you to accelerate beyond the legal speedlimits, while captivating the attention of entranced spectators.

Vette's are just pure power. Chevy didn't really put
the most thought into styling when they built the
C5. Everyone was already taken back by how
different it looked compared to the C4. Its LS1
threw everybody off guard with how much torque it
really had and just how much punch there was. I

This car is a blast to drive. It's extremely safe, reliable and well belt car. I drive it ALL year. Rain, snow, sleet and the dark of night. I've never had any problems with this car and it will be 11 years old on Saturday.Aug 10, 2009

This car is sooo cool. You will certainly drive this car with a smile on your face. It looks great and is surprisingly comfortable. It has it all. Performance, looks, comfort, gas mileage, active handling, even decent hatchback storage with a 12 disk cd changer, Bose sound system, after market chrome wheels with new Michelins for a better ride. The Goodyear fun flat tires were very noisy so they had to go. Black Hawk exaust & Corsa exaust system give this car about 400 hp and boy doess it sound good. Lots of torque. This was the original "fixed roof coupe", or hardtop C5 Corvette. Originally, it was supposed to be the "poor man's" Corvette, with downgraded power, etc. But GM was selling every C5 they could make from 97 on, so they gave it the same features as the regular Corvette, but with a stiffer body. This car was really fun and only got better when the hardtop became the Z06. This was the first model year of the hardtop and cost less than $40k at the time.Jan 18, 2008

This is not actually my car, but my ex-boyfriend's. Unfortunately, he drove it like a little old woman would drive an Oldsmobile. SO unfortunate.
The interior was really comfortable. It really did feel like being in an airplane (with lots of dials to play with when I didn't want to listen to him yammer on).
When he did decide to accelerate, this thing would fly. The engine was relatively quiet for being as big as it was.
Before dating this dude, I really did not like Corvettes. Now, I have greater respect for them (but not for him).Sep 27, 2006
