Excellent Example Of A Classic Land Rover Defender — my favorite car of all time...it continues to increase in value since purchasing it in 2005. i have seen very few examples as clean as mine anywhere...only 56,000 miles and all stock still. no aftermarket add ons. looking for another convertible now

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: amazing classic, bright yellow, perfect condition with no rust

Cons: cant get in usa since 1997

1997 Land Rover Dender 110 Tdi — Very reliable , but slow . It's a DIESEL , which equates to 10 km/liter . It has had 200lbs of firewood on it's roof with all our camping gear . Dis 6000 miles in 3 weeks all throughout South Africa , Botswana and Namibia and bak into South Africa . It did not break down once , except for having 12 punctures .

Pros: Everything (especially COOLNESS )

Cons: None

Average. The Ones I Drove Were Hand-me-downs From Army To Air Force. — I don't know much but I'd say this Rover was an O-K pal in service. It's 4WD capable, on and off road. It's literally a breeze to drive. Most notably used in military service.

Pros: The wind in your hair is the good thing I like about this car. It's easy to maintain. I'd love to go for a spin sometimes.

Cons: Changing gears give me a fright sometimes; when dusted and almost ready for scrapping, one can expect to change from 4th gear to 2nd gear or 1st gear even. Takes a step or two on the clutch to get it going. When at gear 1 and cruising, sometimes the engine would splutter and die off. Takes another turn of the key and step on the accelerator to get it kicking again.

The Dogs Danglies — The ultimate mechano kit car easyto modify to your hearts content and a genuine 100% Icon of motoring. Voted the Worlds Greatest Car by BBC Top Gear viewers. It is like stepping back into the 50's in terms of handling, braking and reliability but it does have the same 50's fix it anywhere mechanics. Three most important tools: 1) Big hammer, 2) Duct tape, 3) Cable ties. Stock go almost anywhere 4x4 ability that can be easily made even better. Great off-road, not so good on-road. You choose your compromise.

Pros: Simplicity, field repairability, iconic status, off-road capability. Helps you make new friends.  Easy to recycle or refurbish.

Cons: Simplicity, ancient road manners, noisy, drafty, not very reliable, thirsty.
