If You Want One Get It — i loved this car. always wanted one and glad I owned one for a bit. It was great in the snow and ice. Once we had a kid the backseat was terrible. No room for the car seat and passengers. had to upgrade

    Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: its a classic, amazing snow and off road

Cons: it's very compact, backseat impossible for tall people

1996 Jeep Cherokee - Best Vehicle I've Ever Owned !!! — Bought this little baby used, never owned a Jeep prior to this one and I can't imagine being without it now. The six cyl. is great, plenty of power. It can tow just about anything. It has a great feel to it, Very safe feeling when riding in the Jeep, There are practically no blind spots, you can see all around easily. Runs nice and cool and does not overheat. The interior is nice and roomy and the controls are easy to access and feel natural. This Jeep will never be for sale, it will stay in our family. If you're considering buying a four wheel drive, there's no need to spend 20 to 30 grand, you can pick up a nice used Cherokee, give it a little love and have a great 4 wheel vehicle that you will have a great time driving. You will love it!

    Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Reliable, FUN to drive, rugged, solid, a true work horse.

Cons: idiot light gauges - Installed a water temp gauge, now it's fine.

N/a — Overall I feel in love with this car starting around 120k it constantly needed to be fix. It seems all except the engine and the transmisson is holding on the heart of the car is strong. I've had to replace the radiator, water pump, hoses, fuel tank, gas gang, fuel pump, deferential {rebuilt} that along is too much, as of now its having a major acceleration probelm and the axel is going again so the handling is off.

    Pros: N/A

    Cons: N/A

Average — I bought this car new in 96. It was a terrible NEW car, but has developed into a very steady, reliable USED car. ( insert anti- jinx here ........@$#%&*) The A/C stopped working almost before I drove it off the lot, and continued to break down following several warranty repairs. Eventually, as time wore on, the A/C lost it's "free" repairs, and I have been using the manual windows for conditioning the air since. There were many other things that broke during the warranty period, but why whine about them. Hey, it's a Jeep. Shoulda known.

    Primary Use: Family transportation

    Pros: Good reliable, used car

    Cons: Bad new car

Never Failed Me — this jeep cherokee has been a very good vehicle, that has served me well over the years. Its only had a few minor issues over the past 17 years that have since been taken care of. It still does have a minor leak though, typical for an older vehicle.

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

    Pros: dependable

Cons: not very fuel efficeint comparatively

My Little Buddy. — I love everything about what this Cherokee is capable of doing. Hauling, wheeling, camping, driving over concrete medians in the city and stuff to make people turn their heads for fun lol. Not to mention what she can do in the woods. Getting me to work no matter what the weather is like... 3 feet of snow is child's play for this old gal.

Pros: This thing is a workhorse and a half. It's been my camper in the woods on offroading trips, it's been my work truck at times, even my band vehicle to haul my guitar amps and stuff around. I take care of her and she treats me right!

Cons: Fuel economy I suppose, but what do you expect? Same thing with handling, if I cared about handling so much I'd buy a sports car, but where's the adventure in that??

Grade A Qualitly When Kept Up With Maintence And The Abilty To Customise To Make One Bad Ass Ride — great off roadin because of it light weight built high out put in line six motor easy to maintain part fairly cheap endless custom ability ability to tow and carry loads like a truck with out being a complete boat to steer

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: act like a truck with out the down side of being a truck

Cons: only down side is know for rotted rocker pannels

Built Just The Way I Like It. — when it comes to jeeps, this is the jeep to beat. for a short arm, she flexes more than needed! she might break from time to time, but thats because she loves the TLC. this jeep doesnt back down any trail, and loves a little trail damage!

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: the only choice for wheelin

Cons: top reason to avoid a jeep? none.

Great For A 3rd Vehicle But Can Be A Bit Dicey To Rely On Every Day. — I love that this truck is so simple and rugged. It's very hard to break and very reliable overall. Mine has 233K on it and it runs great still. The only quality issues are for the smaller items. I've replaced the original radiator because the original was leaking and half plastic. Ive also replaced: door switches, starter, brake master cylinder, wheel bearing, catalytic converter, rear main seal, rear hatch struts and latch, battery and water pump all in the last 2 years. I purchased this vehicle from the original owner 2 years ago with 212K miles. All things considered these repairs were due and most cars never make it to 233K miles at all. I expect to get many more miles in the years to come.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

    Pros: Rock solid

Cons: little nagging issues and poor fuel economy

Great For Me — I love the power and the amount of torque that the 4.0 litre straight six puts out. The AX-15 5 speed manual transmission is a great mate, along with the NP-231 transfer case. The Dana 35 rear and Dana 30 front seem to be holding up fine to my style of harsh driving. With 30x9.5 BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A tires, this rig is capable of doing everything i need it to do, and more.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

    Pros: Off Road Ready

    Cons: None
