The 1994 Chevrolet Corvette featured many safety and performance changes, but retained the same look. Leather seats and a passenger-side airbag were now standard. The instrument panel was completely redesigned for a more modern look.
Convertibles now had the option of a real glass window, a rear-axle ratio was made optional, brake-transmission shift interlock systems were available as well. A fleet of new colors including the popular Black Rose Metallic were available.
The Corvette now came standard with a removable body-color roof panel for its hatchbacks.
The ZR-1 remained powerful as ever, with its 350-ci RPO LT5 V8, rated at 405 horsepower.

Bought it knowing the advanced optispark thing was going to be a problem. The power windows just needed to be worked for a while just to clean the armatures of the motors. Poli, you sound like a guy that expected to get a new car thats 30 years old. GET A CLUE JR. I replaced the optispark unit and water pump because it was behind it so I was just being proactive, If you think youre going to get a car without problems, get some Danberry mint models and stay home and count you money. Very rough interior, parts falling apart, terrible weather stripping. Overall a great project car, very solid mechanically, just really worn and dirty inside the cabin.Oct 07, 2022

All the weather stripping had dry rot . Around both doors and windshield. The top liner was coming off and would need to be re-done. Tired will need to be replaced. The front had some paint swirls, like someone bumped the front fiberglass.Apr 23, 2022

Really fun for either cruises with the roof off or spirited blasts on country roads. The C4 was pretty well sorted by 1994, and although a C5 is a significantly better car, it doesn't look as good as this does.Feb 18, 2015

I have to admit when I first saw this corvette in person, I was not very enthused, especially the color. It just didn't jump out at me. It had a lot of issues, paint chips, rip in the drivers seat, bad brakes, the engine compartment was filthy, it had black louvers on the tail lights, and mud flaps, on all 4 corners. But when I got it home, it was like the story of the ugly frog that turned into the handsome prince, only in this case , a princess. When I washed her, the color completely changed. I guess because there was so much dirt on her, and pollution, it was hard on her, because it turned into a very shiny dark maroon. Then I fixed the interior, mainly the 7 inch rip in the drivers seat. You see , that is one of the things that I used to do in my business for 30 years. Then the mechanics, all new brakes, pads and rotors, all new. A new front spoiler, cause somebody else must have hit one of those stopping curbs. Fixed one of the headlights that makes that chatter when those little bushings inside turn to dust. Flushed out the block, new MOBILE 1 oil in her crank case. The engine compartment was completely cleaned, and a few other things that I cant remember. I have to thank my buddies Ken, and Mike for doing most of the work. Afterwards, I went to work buffing with McGuires Paint Sealer, that stuff is amazing. Then painted all the black under the hood, and engine compartment. Now the car looks almost new. Besides repairing the drivers seat and dying both of them, I added a new set of Deluxe Mats. Oh yes I , removed the tail light louvers , and mud flaps. Actually Ken did that. He couldn't stand them, haha. Some of the parts I picked up in Effingham, MidAmericas annual event. My legs and hips gave out about half way thru that, I had my hips replaced a few years ago, and that's why I am thankful to have my 2 friends to help me out. Ken has a 2000 C5, torch red, that is so brilliant, its amazing, I would love to have it. Mike has an white/red 89 convertible that is the twin sister to my 89 coupe that I bought new. He also has , which I really want bad, a '67 coupe, even tho it has no paint and is in a thousand pieces, cause I know how to fix that, altho, my body is in pretty bad shape. I am 71 next week, and the years of the business and all the car experiences were pretty rough on me. I have to back into the corvette when I get in. But I am still having a lust for another C5, I have had several of them. If my fortune ever hits me in the face again, I have my eyes on my first C5 that I ever purchased, a 1997, torch red/black. Yes , that's right, one of the first 500 ever unveiled to the public. I bought the very first one in Richmond, Virginia from Dominion Chevrolet, April of 97. Our Corvette Club of Richmond,Va, had our very own private unveiling . It was the thrill of my life. I say I have my eyes on it, is because the guy I sold it to, wants to sell it to me, because he wants a C6. He is a little high on the price, but it has a lot of sentimental value. It is also in better shape, because he add the later model chrome wheels, and several other things, and it has only a few more miles on it than when I sold it to him, in 2001. I bought a white/red coupe, 6-speed, but I new it was a dumb move after I did it. I should have sold the new one instead. Man I have made a lot of dumb mistakes in my life, 3 ex-wives, expensive other women, jewelry, cars, trucks, 2 Harleys, and many other toys. That's why I am broke and single today. I don't know , I think God hated my guts, hahahaha, that's what I tell some people , and they argue with me, but you just would not believe some things. Oh yes, I am a lifetime member if the National Corvette Museum, member #751, and the '97 C5 red coupe was #750. Was that an omen or what. I have been a member of the Corvette Club of Richmond, Va. 37 years, and Vettes of Madison, Indiana 7 years. I am writing a book about my adventures of my life, that many friends said I should do. In the mean time I will have to settle for my 94 maroon coupe. WayneNov 04, 2014

I really liked the style, handling, power on demand, and overall positive feel when on the road. Amazingly good gas mileage, reasonable comfort, and definitely eye candy. Any model automatically makes you a member of the Wave Club. Dream vehicle.Sep 01, 2013

The 1994, 1995, and 1996 are the most reliable of all the older Corvettes. These years still have the classic Corvette look and back it up with dependability. Parts, Upgrades, and Mods are easily available, and if any mechanical problems should arise, it is a Chevrolet. Jun 25, 2013

All corvettes are classy but a yellow or black one seems to me to be the classiest. These cars are truly classics. Decent gas mileage, fun to drive and great handling. I love the lines of all corvettes. I can not wait to see the new C7.May 22, 2013

I have owned 4 Corvettes, 88,81,91,94 I never lost money on resale, you have an instant membership into a brotherhood of Corvette owners. if you ever need to get out of a bad head just hop in your vette and go for a drive.the best therapy yet.always get compliments and everyone wants to ask you about your car. its not a car that comes without the necessity for a labor of love. like anything else in life that brings you a feeling of pure bliss it also comes with a commitment on your part.if you maintain the engine and interior and do preventive maintenance you will be rewarded with a hassle free, asset that will gain in value and will also be something you are proud to own.
You are now a Corvette junky when you start buying after market parts and soon you will find yourself spending all your money online buying from Ecklers or magazines for enthusiast, going to car shows and hanging out with other vette heads.Jul 14, 2012

It's fast, fun and a great performer for it's price range. Top down is easy to set up and very pleasant. The BOSE sound system puts out good sound even with top being down. It's fun to turn heads at 1/4 the price of a C6.Jun 18, 2012

i've owned 3 corvettes previous to the purchase of my 1994 convertible after owning 2-1984 & 1-1999 corvette hardtop i was looking for a drop top for a while thinking porsche or mercedes might be good for a change but after numerous test drives i have to say that none of these "high end" sports cars don't even come close to the corvette build quality, handling & performance cant say enough about these cars, you have to drive one to understandAug 29, 2010

The car had 14576 miles on it when I bought the car on July 29, 2006, it now has 17300 miles on it and still looks brand new. Extremely, tight a few minor things need attention but it is 14 years new and still she runs like a top.Feb 15, 2008
