The 1987 Chevrolet Corvette had a very popular engine package available: the Callaway twin-turbo package could be installed at the dealership, and upped horsepower in the 5.7-liter L98 V8 engine from 240 to 345 at 257 kW. The Callaway cost consumers almost $20,000.
Other changes in the 1987 Corvette included roller valve lifters which accounted for the improved horsepower in the base engine. The illuminated driver vanity mirror proved to be a popular option as well, with almost 15,000 of the 30,632 Corvettes sold featuring it.

Love the car. It's a ton of fun to drive. The car is low to the ground and corners quite well. Tires are hard to find. I replaced the interior carpet, fuel pump and mufflers. The car has some issues with the clear coat, but that should be expected for a car this age. Dec 29, 2014

overall, just what i expected. can be harsh on rough roads. seats are supported. i bought mine new 26 years. never encounted any major problems. plan on buying a new one. if you can buy a better sports buy itAug 26, 2013

I did this car up in 2003-2004. everything cosmetically has been upgraded or replaced. I like everything that I did to this car, from the color choice to the wheels. The all leather interior is soft and comfortable. Great RideMay 12, 2012

The C4 is an all around fun car to drive. It handles very well. Has a responsive throttle and actually gets pretty good gas mileage even when cruising at 75 mph. Of the three Vettes that I own. I enjoy driving this one the most. Feb 05, 2012

overall nice car. nothing wrong with it. handles great! has a nice interiour with decent features. paint job is good. has a removable roof which is nice in hot weather. brakes are great. and has lots of power to play with.Nov 16, 2009

for 22 years old it is in exelent condition only doing 37k. the noise is amazing and the feeling of getting chucked back in ur seat is great but the brakes do let it down. other than that i think it is a terrific carAug 13, 2009

The car holds up surprisingly well for an 80's corvette. Very few parts ever needed replacement. Drives incredibly well, but there isn't much communication with the driver. The throttle is sensitive and the steering feels a little dead, but still easy to put exactly where you want it. Black is a difficult color to mantain, but looks better than any other color on this car.Apr 11, 2009

This corvette is simply amazing! It isn't the most pretty (for right now), but what matters is under the hood. The best time to drive this beauty is at night with the hard top off... It puts you in a setting so indescribable. Another thing that is different is how low it rides to the ground. One negative it has a rough ride due to the stiff suspension. the engine was originally a tpi (fuel injection) system but it was then converted into a carb setup. this gave it a little more power and a better sound. this car is far from stock and far above any stock or slightly modified camaro and slaps mustangs around and makes them call it daddy.Jul 01, 2008

Just bought an '87 convertible. Z-52 suspension, loaded, drives like a dream and only 20,300 miles! A tight car red on red w/white top. You cant miss this coming down the street. This makes covette number 6 I've ownd and its possibly the best one!Feb 24, 2008

this is my 8th Corvette, the formers being C2's and C3's. Although I have loved them all, this C4 is a dream to drive and just all around good fun. Not that getting 24-25 miles per gallon around the town and gets it on like a scalded cat is a bad thing, mind you. My first convertible, too.
