Extremely reliable daily car. Does not chug e10 gas. Plenty of room for seats AND trunk space. I personally love the look of the hatchback better than its sedan. Has a slight sports look. Beautiful interior and exterior. Can be beat on and stand strong. Very aftermarket supported. 100/10 would recommend for a first car. The only thing that is worrying is that the rear fender/fender wells tend to rust easily, so if you have lots of snow and salt or gravel and rain, rust could be a potential problem. Deserves more than 5 stars.Aug 22, 2024

I own a Mazda 6, live it. If the Mazda 3 is similar, it is a great value. Apr 10, 2021

Loved driving my 2007 Mazda3 and find it superior - sturdier seats, more leg/headroom, more comfortable back seats, nicer storage, and overall better construction than newer models. Each newer model I drive might have a slight advantage in the sound system, but arent as well made as the 2007.Jul 31, 2020

Low cost of ownership. awesomely reliable. Comfortable, Sporty. Really good storage space for all my stuff. Stability and traction control has helped avoid accidents more times than I care to mention- it can be tough out there. Safe, Side curtain air bags and crumple zones- never used though, nice to know its available.May 05, 2014

The Mazda3 provides great styling and decent interior space for a small sedan. I like the dashboard configuration and the looks of the interior in the evening with interior lights on. The engine (2.0) is a bit sluggish, but otherwise the car is fun to drive.Jan 24, 2014

Nothing I don't like. Reliabllity is awesome! This car has performed every function we have asked of it. It has lugged us to Florida three times and was packed solid. Mazda's are strong, well built cars. You won't be disappointed!Aug 13, 2012

Handles amazingly and all you need is some nice tires to stop on a dime
Good highway miles, and okay miles in the city as long as you don't have a lead foot, else the miles gets a little low.Apr 10, 2012

Great car for city drivers -- small, but comfortable. Zippy and fun -- and boy does it go fast. Cabin are first class and extremely comfortable for passengers.
Even taller folks will be comfortable up front, and the driver will appreciate the standard tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel. And the rear seats in the hatchback fold down 60/40, which nearly doubles the amount of cargo roomJun 23, 2010

good economical car, reliable, comfortable to drive the sp23 has all the options. easy to park. mine has leather seats. the only expense is this car requires premium unleaded to run. it handles and stops awsome. needs a bit more power.Feb 14, 2010

2.3L has lots of torque, 5 speed is geared well, needs a 6th for hwy though. suspension needs to be a little stiffer. well made, great on fuel, comfortable for a small car, lots of fun to bomb around town.Nov 20, 2009

performance is great, handling and acceleration make this car fun. It is well built, it does not squeak or rattle. The interior lightning is pretty cool. has blue and red lighting inside. it has an average of 8.7lts/100kms. The car is so fun to drive, since the suspension has been modified to a high performance one.Oct 30, 2009

The thing I don't like is that the MPS doesn't come in a sedan.
It would be awesome if it also came in a AWD version.
Handling is great, quite good on fuel too. Could do with auto
rain sensing wipers.Oct 25, 2009

Very peppy and handling is very light. Easy to drive. The build quality is acceptable but could be better, the car is getting tinny. Gas mileage is very impressive, more than half the Xterra. The exterior styling is very intriguing and the hatch is very useful. Interior is very ergonomically designed.Aug 23, 2009

Good performance, great looking interior/exterior, lots of features, reasonable price. Really slick shifter. Fuel economy isn't great for a compact sedan but I'm not complaining. It's all the car I need and nothing I don't. I would absolutely buy it again. Jul 21, 2009

I love the styling and comfort of this car and you don't feel like your in an economy car. I get a lot of compliments on this car. I have people come to me to see what type of car it is. Jul 14, 2009

Had this car for 1 1/2 years, and enjoyed every bit of it. I like the build quality of the Mazda, very solid and feels more continental than Japanese in many aspects. The design of the exterior is still very fresh (mine was a facelifted version) despite it being introduced back in 2004. One of the more sportier looking sedan out in the market. However, I made the mistake of buying the 1.6L version, as the engine was indeed under-powered and consumption suffered. Overall a good car that I still miss sometimes. Very comfortable to drive, practical with large trunk space. Apr 16, 2009

Subtle, underrated car which doesn't disappoint, more so on the open road. Seems tame at first but the moment you let the cat out the bag, it pretty much takes care of everything else.
Despite all of the above though, there are drawbacks but more in terms of maintenance as I recently found out. To get the most out of the car, you need the best tires on the market and who can argue, perfection loves company. Unfortunately they do come at a price which in the long-run is well worth it. Then again if you feel the need for a little fun, get some slicks for the rear for some oversteer excitement.
All in all though, one of the most exciting cars I've drive with superb handling.Dec 25, 2008

Had a VW Bora Manual previously, obviously loved the car. Though I should say with standard 2ltr enjine pickup is pretty slow (from complete stop). With Mazda 2ltr I don't see this issue at all:) Just enjoying it!
Its tiptronic gear box is commentable for those who loves manual driving pleasure.Sep 11, 2008

One of the favorite cars i have ever driven here at work they are awesome generally the only problems we have with them is sometime the tire pressure light comes on for no reason and when people are to ruff on them the steering pinions in the back come loose and make a lot of rattling noise but other than that no problems my favorite thing about them is the shifter that goes up and down easy for taking turns an slowing like its a real clutch. also the interior is good i like having all the right buttons right there i don't have to look down while im driving i just reach over and switch stations or on some that have the controls on the steering wheel that's not even needed great car if i had the money i would like three!!Aug 12, 2008

I'm just loving it. Keep enjoy everyday! In compare to my red Sunfire, it's days & nights. No problem at all. Sport woman look, white and GT with sunroof. All equiped, except leather (but I don't like it, so). Very confortable, I can drive for hours in that car. Very quiet, enough power but not too much to have police againts me everyday. Spend a lot on gas, but who cares. Everyone has to put some gas into his car.Jul 31, 2008

The Mazda3 is a great car for its value. I had a 2002 Civic before this one. I was very surprised at what all you get for the money. It drives like a high end European car. May 03, 2008

It's not terribly fast, but handles pretty good, the hatchback came in real handy during my recent move, it can swallow a surprising amount of stuff. Good driving position, seats are height adjustable, steering wheel rakes and telescopes.
It's very well equipped for the price, xenon HID head lights, Bose stereo, moon roof, leather, auto lights, auto climate control, auto wipers, alloy wheels, trip computer.
Pretty fuel efficient, it's a manual and I'm averaging about 28 MPG right now.May 01, 2008

Originally got this car for my wife who's Jetta literally died, but that's another story. We really hadn't considered Mazda, but drove by the dealership, saw all the signs so figured why not? Wife, who doesn't like bigger sedans, got into this nicely appointed car and fell in love with it. It handled very well, good response, interior was well done. And then, after four months she handed the keys to our 19 year old son, who then totaled the thing. Hit a guard rail coming and going. Amazing thing was, he walked away with a minor scratch. That car looked like an empty beer can squashed by Godzilla. We promptly went out and bought another one. I've never seen my wife take care of a car so well in my life. Apr 29, 2008

It is impossible to summarize exactly what you get with this car when you purchase it. You would need a very big place to write it all down. The only amenity that I can think of that it DOESN'T have is automatic seats. It's not only roomier than my friends Mercedes-Benz CLS550, but the stereo is also better and able to play louder. Not to mention, it just FEELS solid.Apr 17, 2008

this car is the fastest car with the best gas mileage, it is the perfect balance between sporty and practical, if you want a car that you can use for many things and have fun in it, as well as have a great car for a long while this is the car to buyMar 31, 2008

This car has won me over and away from domestic gas hogs. True red is the sharpest color in mazda's line up and turns heads. Mine is a 5 speed trans with 2.0 DOHC, a winning combination. Around the Detroit area this car is nimble enough to avoid all the pot holes and quick enough to manage a "Michigan Left" on Woodward during the rush. Buy this car and don't be afaid to rip into it... you won't be disappointed. As far as Interior, while it is comfy, keep in mind that it is an entry level sedan. There is that "Plastic-Feel" to closing the door but very smart lay out and the little extras make up for it.Mar 28, 2008

i love the look of exterior and interior, got the silver one, but should have got another color like blue or red. braking performance is very nice, but acceleration is slow with its 148HP.
mazda spees3 should be fun tho with its 265HP....Jan 29, 2008

The Mazda 3s GT gives you more for about 21K than any other car, period. It is a pure pleasure to drive, slow or fast, and the car's looks are aggressive, yet soft so that it appeals to both genders. And man, can it handle! What an amazing suspension system. The car corners like if it were on rails! And the braking is eye-popping! The acceleration is decent, and feels great anywhere above 3000RPM. Definitely zoom zoom worthy! Again, we're only talking about 21K here. As far as comfort and safety goes you can check on the mazda website, since the list never ends. Just know that there are airbags all around the car so that in case of accident you end up envelopped like in a little cocoon. The leather is awesome, with front seat warmers, climate control, computer trip, Bose sound, wheel controls, mp3 player attachment, etc... the list goes on and on. Well, to me it was a no brainer: I bought one! In this segment the Mazda 3s GT has NO competition.Feb 22, 2007
