Preview of 2009 Chevrolet Malibu LS
The 2009 Chevrolet Malibu LS is the base trim for this four-door sedan. While not many options are available, it does come with enough features to make you perhaps forget it's the base. The drivetrain includes an ECOTEC 2.5-liter four-cylinder with variable valve timing that is mated to a four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive, a pairing that gets 22 city/33 highway mpg. The LS gets all the same safety features as the rest of the Malibu trims, including driver, front-passenger, thorax side-impact, and head-curtain side-impact airbags and Chevy’s StabiliTrak Electronic Stability Control System, which includes Traction Control, Brake Assist, and OnStar.
The LS's interior features cruise control mounted on the steering wheel, power-adjustable height for the driver’s seat with manual lumbar support, 60/40 split rear seats with adjustable outboard head restraints, and a six-speaker AM/FM/CD stereo with auxiliary input jack and TheftLock. The LS exterior features 17-inch fascia-spoke painted silver wheels and a black-insert-with-chrome-surround grille.
