This all-wheel drive quattro sports coupe takes the A5 platform and gives it a sport suspension, larger 18-inch alloy wheels with performance tires, performance brakes, a multi-link front and rear suspension, and an engine mounted behind the front wheels for a more balanced ride. The brand new 2008 Audi S5 is poised to strike with its 354-hp 4.2-liter FSI V8 and 6-speed manual. A 6-speed automatic will also be available.

The quattro system comes with a center limited-slip differential and front and rear locking differentials. Extra stability comes with standard traction control, 4-wheel disc and ABS brakes, stability control, and dual front and front-side airbags. Other safety features include foglights, xenon headlamps with washers, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, automatic headlights, and a tire monitor.
