2008 Audi A4 3.2 Quattro Summary

The best-equipped A4 sedan available from Audi, the 2008 3.2 Quattro delivers improved traction and stability over all types of road surfaces, thanks to its Quattro permanent all-wheel-drive system. In addition, the 3.2 Quattro pampers passengers with such luxury-oriented interior features as heated front seats and leather upholstery, plus dual-zone climate control, power-adjustable front seats, a leather gearshift knob, and a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel.

While the Quattro all-wheel-drive system adds some weight to the upscale sedan, drivers and reviewers note that A4 3.2 Quattro maintains good overall balance and performance, due primarily to its  255-horsepower, 3.2-liter V6 engine. When linked to a six-speed manual transmission, the 3.2 Quattro jumps from 0 to 60 in 6.5 seconds. That increases to 6.7 seconds when the sedan has been equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission with tiptronic, which enables drivers to shift manually using paddle shifters mounted behind the steering-wheel spokes.

Outside, 2008 A4 3.2 Quattro retains the deep grille and sculpted lines that were introduced during a redesign in 2005, though most agree the 2008 version doesn't look dated. A S-line rear spoiler, new for 2008 and integrated into the rear trunklid, adds to the A4 3.2 Quattro's sporty good looks.

Drivers and reviewers give the Audi A4 3.2 Quattro good marks for its performance and handling, thanks to its Servotronic speed-sensitive power steering, four-link front suspension, antilock brakes, and 18-inch alloy wheels with all-season tires. Some note, however, that the A4 3.2 Quattro's electronics systems could use an update. The current configuration consists of an Audi Symphony AM/FM audio system with MP3 capability and a six-disc CD changer.

Options include an S-line Package, which adds a sport suspension, sport steering wheel, and aluminum pedals, and a Titanium Package, which adds alloy wheels with titanium finish and a black-trimmed front grille.
