2008 Audi A4 2.0T Summary
Although it occupies the entry-level spot in the Audi A4 lineup, the 2008 Audi A4 2.0T delivers an impressive list of standard features, making it a good choice for drivers seeking an affordable upscale sedan. Standard features start with the sedan's classic exterior lines, distinctive deep grille, and S-line rear spoiler (new for 2008) integrated into the trunklid, which creates downforce and adds to the 2.0T's sporty good looks.
A turbocharged, sport-tuned 200-horsepower inline four-cylinder engine, designed for fuel efficiency as well as performance, powers the 2.0T. The engine links to either a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed multitronic transmission, which shifts more smoothly than an automatic while delivering the acceleration of a manual, according to Audi. Shift paddles on the steering wheel enable the driver to manually shift gears with the multitronic transmission.
While the 2.0T comes with cloth seats rather than leather, the sedan does not lack for other features. Dual-zone climate control, 12-way power-adjustable front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, a power glass sunroof with slide and tilt functions, powered and heated exterior mirrors, and a remote locking system all come standard.
Drivers and reviewers give the Audi 2.0T good marks for its performance and handling, thanks to its Servotronic speed-sensitive power steering, four-link front suspension, and 16-inch alloy wheels with all-season tires. Some note, however, that the 2.0T's electronics systems could use an upgrade. The current configuration consists of an Audi Symphony AM/FM audio system with MP3 capability and a six-disc CD changer.
Options include an S-line Package, which adds a sport suspension, sport steering wheel, and aluminum pedals, and a Titanium Package, which adds 18-inch alloy wheels with titanium finish and a black-trimmed front grille. Heated seats and a navigation system are among the other options.
