The 2.5 liter X-Type sedan debuts as Jaguar's new entry point for 2002.  The 2.5 liter DOHC V-6 produces 191 horsepower and 180 pound-feet of torque, sending this 3400 pound sedan from 0 to 60 in 7.9 seconds.  This model offers Jaguar's best fuel efficiency at 19/28 mpg with the manual transmission.  A five-speed automatic is optional.

Standard features include leather seats, wood trim, keyless entry, steering wheel audio controls, heated mirrors and automatic climate control.  Options can be added in rather expensive packages, like the Premium package (moonroof, an eight-way power passenger seat, two-way power lumbar support for both front seats), and the Sport package (maple wood trim, Connolly leather seating, a rear spoiler, Dynamic Stability Control, sport-tuned suspension).
