Debuting in the 2002 model year, the Mercedes-Benz ML500 sport utility vehicle replaced the ML430, which had been carmaker's lineup for three years. Thoughout its run, other standard features, options, and special packages were added to upgrade the ML500's appearance, comfort level, power, and off-road capabilities.
