Why Did We Wait So Long? — We recently purchased a black-on-black 2013 ML350 with 1200 miles and we couldn't be happier. We traded-in a 2009 Lincoln Navigator, which when we purchased it was perfect for our growing family, but recently had become much to big and expensive. We had compared all the usual suspects and thought they we need to stay with a vehicle that included a third row. It wasn't until we test drove the ML at a local dealership that we realized that we used the third row maybe 4 times the whole year, so while it's a nice to have, it wasn't going to be a necessity anymore. We ended up narrowing our choices to the Volvo xc90, the new Infinit JX and the ML350. After driving both the Infiniti and the Volvo we soon realized that it wasn't even close. The build, the ride and interior finishes on the ML350 blew away the other two vehicles, so we quickly focused our search on a used 2012 ML350 with less than 10k in miles. We found 3 vehicles that fit our criteria, one in Ma and two in NJ. Two of the three were loaded 2012 models in the steel gray with black interior, the third was a 2013 black-on-black with limited options, but only 1200n miles. I quickly called both dealerships about the availability of the 2012's, but both had gone under deposit that afternoon. Disappointed and feeling like we missed on two really good deals, I took one more look at the 2013. Based on the mileage and the price, it was a really good deal, so we made an appointment, put the car on hold and drove down the next Saturday to finalize everything. The car was beautiful and we bought it right on the spot. We didn't take delivery until the following week because we had them install a wood steering wheel and rear dvd entertainment. The dealership actually drove the car to us in CT and took the Navigator back with them. Overall, we couldn't be happier with the vehicle. The interior finish is top notch, the ride quality is smooth and responsive and the overall comfort is terrific. There is only one problem with the vehicle... it has converted my wife into a Mercedes only driver, so I see upgrades and more expensive models in my future!
