Not much changed for the Subaru Forester compact SUV in 2008. You'll now find stability control as a standard feature on the turbocharged trims with automatic transmission. In addition, the 11 trims got some minor equipment adjustments.
When you differentiate between regular and turbocharged, keep in mind that the Forester has 2 engines: a 2.5-liter, 173-hp H4 model and a 2.5-liter, 224-hp H4 model. While you have your choice between a 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic transmission, all trims come with all-wheel drive. Cargo space comes out to 31 cubic feet with the rear seat up and 69 with the rear seat folded.
Overall, drivers like the 2008 Subaru Forester for its smooth handling, capable powertrain, and safety. On the other hand, things can get a little tight for passengers in the rear, and you get a bit more wind noise than you may have bargained for. While some see the Forester as a bit of an anachronism, this compact SUV delivers enough fun and functionality to stay competitive in today's demanding market.
