CarGurus' 2007 Volkswagen Passat Review

For 2007, the German-engineered Volkswagen Passat is available in two trim packages. The 2.0T has over 100 unique features, according to Volkswagen, starting with its fuel-efficient, direct-injection 200-hp 4-cylinder engine. Drivers who demand a little more power can opt for the 3.6L trim package, which comes with a 3.6-liter V6 that pumps out 280 hp.

Both models come with automatic brake assist wipers, which ensure the brakes work properly in wet conditions. Other technical innovations include electronic braking assistance, which provides acoustic signals to help you park in tight spaces; a Hill Hold Assist feature that locks the brakes in place when you're parked on a slope; and a hydraulic brake assist system that stops the car quicker in an emergency.

Inside, the innovations are just as cool, and include an electronic parking brake operated by a button on the dash (opening up space in the center console for storage), an integrated umbrella holder in the driver's-side door (truly nifty), and such options as 12-way power seats, a DVD navigation system, and a Dynaudio premium 600-watt audio system. Power windows, power door locks, cruise control, a trip computer, anti-lock brakes, traction control, stability control, heated exterior mirrors, and LED taillights are also part of the package.
