CarGurus' 2007 Dodge Magnum Review

Bold, upfront, and hard to ignore. No, not Donald Trump. Not Rush Limbaugh. It's the Dodge Magnum, an SUV personality built on a car platform. Certainly an attention-grabber, the 2007 Dodge Magnum's exterior looks like it houses a high-powered, state-of-the-art engine that will send you flying down the highway. But it is also stable and quiet, and its precise handling lets you feel confident transporting your family comfortably in this four-door sedan. The optional AWD available in the R/T and SXT models offers added security tackling poor road conditions.

Able to seat four comfortably and five if the rear armrest is folded up, the 2007 Magnum is a powerhouse whose smooth ride is quiet with little vibration. Austere in the cabin, it's anything but under the hood, with engines ranging from the base model's 2.7-liter, 190-hp V6 to a 3.5-liter, 250-hp V6 to a stomping 5.7-liter, 340-hp Hemi V8, paired with either a four-speed automatic or five-speed manumatic transmission. Despite the tapered rear windows, headroom does not suffer, and the trunk can carry a good amount of cargo when the seats are folded down.

No major changes in the 2007 Dodge Magnum, aside from new colors and a standard Sirius radio available in R/T models. A new Road/Track package for R/T models offers 20-inch wheels (to replace the 18-inch), performance-tuned suspension, and a boost in Hemi horsepower from 340 to 350 hp. In past models, drivers complained about a weak 2.7-liter engine, desire for a manual transmission, and difficulty closing the rear liftgate, but few reported major repair problems, and most loved the look and acceleration of the Magnum.
