This vehicle was a great vehicle. It ran great and drove smooth. It was very nice looking and clean. It was really roomy and comfortable to drive. There was a lot of storage space. Overall just a great vehicle to have. The pulling power it had was awesome. Won a few truck pulls with it. It had a V10 in it also. It did suck down the gas. Nov 29, 2014

From a Ford guy I had to take my hat off to this truck because I loved it and the power and performance was outstanding but it comes at a high price with todays fuel costs. Over all, it got the job done and I loved it.
The front end, bushing & ball joints just don't hold up even with the grease fittings. The body/sheet metal was week and took a real beating in a hail storm one year so that was a bit depressing but, it did not effect the great performance one bit. I'd buy one again if I had the need. Jul 05, 2013

Over all I am very pleased with this ram 1500 4 x 4. With the bigger tires it seems to be a bit under powered, but with the change of gears it should perform better and increase mpg.
Even though it has 200000 miles on it the motor still seems to be very strong.Oct 12, 2012

Has the 318 instead of the 360, I like my Horsepower no matter what the cost ! I would rather it be a Quad Cab because for older folks the back seat is inacessable, other than that this is a great truck.Dec 30, 2011

Its kinda like driving a school bus. Ive never driven a school bus but if I had to imagine what driving a school bus would be like, this is it. Pretty fun to drive, but with the 5.9 liter V8, it drinks gas. Ive driven through a foot of snow and have not got stuck. Have had to get a few repairs on the drive train, transmission, transfer case, and rear u-join. Going to have to replace the front ball joints and drive shaft soon. Overall a good buy for $2,500 and a 97 buick lesabre with 200k on it.Oct 25, 2011

It is a great truck, Yes it has a small v6 for a truck but it has plenty of power and gets good mpg. It has been very reliable. It did have the torque converter go bad 2 years ago but that was the only major problem it has had. Oct 19, 2011

i love my truck because it is big, powerful, and can go through anything. I have raced it against a 92 mustang and WON!! That should prove just how fast my truck really is. I just really love my truck.Apr 24, 2010

Build Quality: Very strong
Car Comparisons: Jeep wrangler. More power, bigger axles
Performance: Bad acceleration, stopping, top speed. Thats what 37"
tires do though.

Well I had a front hub bearing go out after 253,000 miles so I am a do it yourself person problem is that the spindle nut is so tight I could not remove it I broke 3+ Craftsman ratchets trying I finally had to pay a shop just to loosen that one nut for me. I like the truck but the auto hubs are not worth the money put into them my 4wd quit working over a year ago.Feb 17, 2010

performance- gets up and goes good, handles nicely, nice
amount of power
build quality- rear bumper is strong, front bumper pretty
weak, body is pretty solid, tranny is notorious for not
lasting long, most common rust areas are rear fender wells
appearance- nice body shape, easy to make a bad ass
truck
cost- nothing too major or out of the ordinary except
tranny, eats gas pretty quickly
fun factor- love it!Jan 03, 2010

It's an all around good truck. All seasons, all the time. Only 15 MPG tho haha...Fun as hell to drive though. I would recommend it to anyone who likes to drive a truck and wants to get a little puch behind em.Oct 19, 2009

The gas mileage aint great but respectable at 16 mpg. Ive never had any problems pulling my 2800 lb camper. The only weak point I have found in the truck is the front wheel bearings and axle u-joints. Other than that, I always get somments about the Intense blue paint.Oct 15, 2009

slow acceleration, fun in the mud and snow, clean truck, little rust, gas mileage sucks horribly, and fun to drive. have pulled with it, and won and lost. it sits on 33 inch tires that do ok in the mud.Sep 21, 2009

My dodge RAM 1500 gets you from point A to B, and thats about it. It can also haul anything I could ever want. However, it is starting to develop transmission problems. Other than that though, it is a very fun car to driveMar 17, 2009

Was a solid running truck, motor wise, suffered from two common dodge problems, rust on the bottom of the doors, and the infamous transmission issues. Cost of ownership on the truck was very high, as it only had the 318, and averaged around 11mpg -16mpg (on a good day). other than that a good truck, towed our 24' rinker boat with a tiny bit of problem, but not badSep 20, 2008

I love my truck. Ive put a good hundred hours of work into it, inside and out. Gas mileage is ok, if i drive normal but i speed. Even though its only 2wd, ive taken it offroad and gotten stuck in 3 foot deep hole. The door scraped the ground as i got out (couldnt see the hole by the way). Had a friend who came and literally jerked me out of the hole. Not a scratch on my truck.Jul 24, 2008

Awesome truck! drove like I stole it from the day I got it and it still kicks ass. This truck pulls anything and has pulled alot of people home. I also have hauled many deer with it. I doesn't look so good no more but it is a great huniting truck.Jul 05, 2008

Unfortunately i didnt have a great income at the time i bought so i bought a decent v6. I love my truck, it has vinyl floors, no electric windows or locks, so basically nothing major than can break on it... its dualed out and has a bed liner, toolbox, and running boards, and semi-oversized tires.. Very reliable truck considering the work it did. Lasted the hard work on a spread out farm pretty good. Was going on 250,000 miles before wreck. The wreck was not the pickup's fault. Interior didn't have problem with taking a beating. This truck was awesome. I hope to get one soon.Feb 02, 2008

This is my 98 sport 4x4. Its loaded with leather, and has the 5.2 with manual transmission. Very reliable truck, just a little slow and hard on fuel. But you have to pay to play, right?Jan 04, 2008
