BMW is upgrading the engine of its popular X5 SUV in 2007, upping the horsepower of the base model 35 points to 260 with technology upgrades that have been a huge hit among drivers of its sports sedans. The 2007 X5 is also 7.4 inches longer than its predecessor, giving buyers the option of adding a spacious third row of seats for the first time.
The X5 is scheduled to reach U.S. dealerships on November 24, 2006. The top of the line X5 4.8i will have a stunning, 350 horsepower V8 engine.
