CarGurus' 2006 BMW 525 Review
The 2006 BMW 525 swapped a 215 horsepower, 3.0 liter engine with the 184 horsepower, 2.5 liter engine found in previous model years, offering drivers more power and performance. As has been the case with prior models, test drivers didn't particularly like the lay out of the controls or the 525's fuel economy, but those two setbacks were overshadowed by checks in the "pros" column: steering, handling, ride, build quality, and interior materials.
The car is not cheap, averaging more than $40,000 in the U.S. and significantly more than competitors in its class, but die hard fans will argue its a matter of getting what you pay for. The all-wheel drive model joined the traditional rear wheel drive 525 in 2006.
