CarGurus' 2004 Chrysler 300M Review

This was the sixth and final production year for the Chrysler 300M.  Daimler Chrysler was already in the process of developing a new look for the long-running 300 name, and a totally unique successor was about to emerge.  Chrysler would retire the LH cab-forward design, and embrace a new platform borrowed from Mercedes Benz.
A potent 3.5 liter V-6 supplied the 300M's power, with 250 horsepower and 250 pound-feet of torque. This engine was built specifically for this platform, but it would be passed along to the next generation of 300s.  The V-6 was paired with a four-speed automatic transmission, which featured Chrysler's AutoStick manual shifter.  The 300M's fuel economy was rated at 19/27 mpg. Not bad considering its powerful engine and 3567 pound curb weight.
There were no major changes for this final year of production, but a navigation system with voice prompts was now available as an option.  The 300M was designed with this purpose: offer drivers a blend of luxury and performance.  The sedan had a well-appointed spacious interior, and the initial offering of the car was given a sports tuning.  Later, when Chrysler split the 300M into two models, this version focused on luxury.
