Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I will be driving and all of a sudden the rpm's rev up
but if I touch my automatic shifter very lightly it
goes back to normal. It just started doing this and
only does it every once in a while. When the car is
on cruise control its fine. I had one machanic say i
need a new transmission and another say it
sounds like the drive shaft. My shifter is a bit loose,
which it wasnt before. Please help if you can
because I love my Vue but just dont want to pay for
a transmission if thats not what I need

I have a 2003 Saturn vue,an when this was happening to me it ended up being a crank sensor. $60 fix. Plus it kept running out of gas with gas in it.
