No start

Asked by GuruVJYGQ Sep 22, 2018 at 05:48 PM about the 2002 Ford F-150 XLT SuperCab 4WD SB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

New fuel pump, fillter, cam sensor. Fixed vacuum
leaks. Had a lean code stored. Started missing and
cut off like it ran out of gas. Fuel pressure 40 at key
on. Drops 3 seconds later. You can hear it dump
back into tank. Holds at 30 while cranking. Is this
normal? I need to now if it is a regulator problem or
shou I check the fuel rails. Definitely a fuel
problem.  Squirt of stating fluid and it fires up.

Are the injectors firing? Do this, disconnect an injector connect a test light between the two harness terminals then crank engine, does the lite flash? If no ground one end of the test lite then turn the ignition switch on probe both terminals does the light come on. on one terminal if no check fuses if yes scan to see why the ECM isn't firing the injectors. I hope this helps you the ECM grounds the injectors to fire them.

I think you found your problem. Put a chrger on the battery for a while then fire it up when it starts surprise replace battery Fords are sensitive to low injector voltage I hope this helps you
