Buying a car

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

I'm pretty confused. I found what seems to be a
too good to be true vehicle. Something I can pay
cash for in full tomorrow. But how does it work?
Are the prices listed on car gurus the full asking
price? So if it days $3000 I can go to the dealer
tomorrow and give them $3000 and drive my car
away?

First, take any advertised price on this or any website with a grain of salt. It's not true until you see it in person. So before you plan on a major road trip to see this "too good to be true" deal, just think - it might actually be too good to be true. Second, if you buy a car from a dealer, they will most likely provide you with temporary tags, in addition to the title. If you buy from a private seller, you'll have to make arrangements to get the title transferred yourself, and you own temp tags or plates. If you buy out of states, and want to drive the car back, then you'll have to check the hours of the local license or title bureaus so you can get your temp tags.
