how do fix a very high idle on a 1978 e350 7.5 460cuin

its getting worse and dangerous. please please help!!! its mostly when its cold, but every
time i restart even after 1 min it does it agian, while driving i have to throw it intonuetral to
kick it down

Check for vacuum leaks and if yours has an old vacuum advance system that's where I would look first.

Check your throttle cable sometimes the clip breaks then your accelerator gets stuck.
