Is there a trouble code in the memory? and when it stalls, but won't restart, do you lose spark? or fuel? The fuel pressure can be checked, the spark can be verified manually, and whose parts are on there? does it still have Motorcraft parts? Or have aftermarket parts been substituted? and was there a recall on your fuel regulator? You can tell your vin to the dealer and ask if there was. just want to eliminate that for safety's sake.

1994 F150, Automatic, 2wd, 5.0 Won't Start. Cranks fine, good spark, good cap, rotor ,wires. New plugs , new pcm with no codes. After cranking plugs remain pretty dry won't start with build, mechanical timing okay. Engine SAT for a long time since last started, good to low compression. Anyone have any suggestions? OK i'm stumped. I have a 2001 ford explorer(please keep comments about fords to yourself ). I've had 4 episodes where i was driving along with no issues and the even though i am excellerating the car stops running and the stalls out. Once i pull it to the side of the road and try to start it it back fires and qcts like it it out of gas but if you wait 30 plus minutes it will start and run for a bit longer then repeats itself a couple more times but then it will runs for days until it does it again. The check engine light is not on but the check gas cap is on. we replaced the gas cap and it is still on. The first time this happened I had it towed and the mechanic tightened the serpentine belt and fixed the manifold gasket. Does anyone have any ideas???? 14 Answers
