2012 Ford Focus SE Trim Overview

The 2012 Ford Focus SE comes equipped with a number of standard features not found on the entry-level Focus S trim, including illuminated entry and Ford's MyKey system, which enables owners to set limits on speed and audio volume, as well as activate certain alerts, when younger drivers take the wheel. Air conditioning, power windows and door locks, a tilt/telescopic steering wheel, remote keyless entry and cloth seats with 4-way manual adjustment for the driver and 2-way adjustment for the passenger are among the other standard features in the SE's cabin. The rear seatback splits 60/40 and folds to expand cargo space. In addition, the SE's 4-speaker audio system, which also comes standard, includes a CD player, speed-sensitive volume and an input jack. Outside, the SE includes such features as foglights, automatic quad-beam halogen headlights, and 16-inch steel wheels, as well as power folding mirrors and body-color door handles.

A new 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder engine powers the 2012 Focus SE. The engine generates 160 hp and 146 lb-ft of torque, and links to a 5-speed manual transmission, which comes standard, or an optional 6-speed PowerShift automatic transmission. The EPA estimates fuel economy numbers of 26/36 mpg for the Focus SE when equipped with the 5-speed manual transmission and 28/38 when upgraded to the 6-speed automatic. In addition, owners can add an optional Super Fuel Economy Package, which pushes fuel economy numbers to 28/40 mpg. Standard safety features for the Focus SE include 6 airbags, antilock brakes, a tire pressure monitoring system and Ford's AdvanceTrac electronic stability control system.
