All new for 2008, the five-door xD subcompact hatchback is powered by a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 128 horsepower. A five-speed manual transmission is standard, while a four-speed automatic transmission is available as an option. Anti-lock brakes with Electronic Brake Distribution and Brake Assist are standard.
The xD is affordably priced, yet it's nicely equipped with such features as air conditioning, power windows, power door locks with remote keyless entry, a rear window defogger, a tilt steering wheel with audio controls, an amber instrument panel, a digital clock, and a six-speaker Pioneer AM/FM stereo system with a CD player and iPod connectivity.
Other features include 16-inch wheels with a choice of three wheel covers, a chrome exhaust tip, multi-function halogen lights, side mirror-mounted turn signals, front sport bucket seats, sliding and reclining rear seats, and a first aid kit.
The Scion xD is available in six colors, including Super White, Silver Streak Mica, Black Sand Pearl, Magnetic Gray Metallic, Barcelona Red Metallic, and Nautical Blue Metallic.
The Scion xD is also available with a number of accessories that enable drivers to personalize the car, including a rear spoiler, a navigation system, a two-tone steering wheel, and a sport shift knob available in a variety of colors, as well as a premium Pioneer stereo system that can be personalized with a variety of skins.
