The 2006 Crossfire is, for now, the final offering of Chrysler's popular, Mercedes-inspired sports coupe. The Crossfire is reminiscent of the previous generation Mercedes SLK, and the German automaker also supplied the engine.
The power plant was the same across the board: a 3.2 liter SOHC V-6, prodcing 215 horsepower and 229 pound-feet of torque. The Limited trim is offered with an optional five-speed automatic or the standard six-speed manual. All models are rear-wheel drive.
The Limited trim is differentiated from the Base by many upscale touches. All four models come standard features like ABS with BrakeAssist, traction and stability control, full power accessories and dual-zone climate control.
Most of the Limited's additional features are appearance upgrades, including silver-trimmed speaker grilles, fog lamps, rubber-studded aluminum pedals, leather seats, and satin silver finish door handles and fender vents. The Limited also gets power heated seats, a six-speaker Infinity Modulus audio upgrade, and a cabin air filter.
Power availability and handling both top the list of favorite features. The Crossfire will reach 60 mph in just 6.8 seconds. Tight interior space and poor rear visibility are both common complaints.
