The 7-passenger minivan from Kia, the 2005 Sedona LX is the base version, and it remains virtually unchanged from last year. Powered by a 3.5-liter, 195-hp V6 and 5-speed automatic, the 2005 Kia Sedona LX features three rows of seating. The second and third rows can be removed for a maximum 128 cubic feet of cargo space. The rear cargo area comes with standard tie-downs. Dual front bags are standard, but ABS brakes cost extra.
The LX is fairly minimalistic, with a single manual sliding door, power locks, windows, and mirrors, a CD player, cruise control, and intermittent front and rear wipers. An overhead and front console provide extra storage compartments. New this year are optional captain's chairs for the front seat. Other options include a roof rack, a DVD system, remote entry, and a trailer hitch for up to 3500 pounds of towing capability. Highlights include the interior room and standard features for a lower price tag than comparable minivans. There are complaints about the small cargo area when all the seats are upright and the poor 16/22 gas mileage.

The 2005 Kia Sedona EX is the premium trim model for this 7-passenger minivan. With an affordable price tag and 10-year warranty, the 2005 Sedona EX is an attractive buy for families. It is powered by the same 195-hp, 3.5-liter DOHC V6 engine and 5-speed automatic as the base model, and comes with dual front airbags, 15-inch wheels, and removable second and third row seats. The front-wheel drive minivan adds on to the base LX with standard front row captain's chairs that are both power-adjustable, a trip computer, foglights, leather shifter and wheel trim, heated mirrors, and a standard roof rack.
Sliding doors are manually operated. The 2006 Sedona EX can also be outfitted with a sunroof, leather seats, and a DVD player to entertain the kids. Like the LX, ABS brakes are optional only. A trailer hitch can also be installed. Roomy, comfortable, safe, and affordable are some of the praises from drivers of the 2006 Sedona EX. Complaints mention the poor 16/22 gas mileage and the small storage space behind the third row.
