2005 Chevrolet Astro Overview
Overall User Score

Not much changed for the Chevy Astro passenger van in its last year of production. The Astro passenger van comes in two trims: 2WD and AWD. Both trims have a 4.3 L, 190 hp V6 powertrain with 4 speed automatic transmission.
Gas mileage averages out to 15 mpg in the city and 19 on the highway. Both trims have 3 doors, seat 8, and offer standard air conditioning, power windows, power door locks, and ABS brakes. Options include cd player and power/leather seats. Passenger volume comes out to 129.1 cubic feet and cargo volume comes out to 41.3 cubic feet. Max towing capacity ranges from 5200-5400 lbs.
Overall, the critics appreciate the SUV-like towing capacity and spacious interior that the Astro offers. However, not much else stands out for the Astro. With an outdated design and less-than-inspiring powertrain, the Chevy Astro doesn't tow or hold enough to justify choosing it over a good SUV or van.
