2003 GMC Yukon XL Overview
While it didn't change drastically in 2003, the Yukon XL did make some noteworthy improvements. GMC added Quadrasteer for improved steering and higher towing capacity. In addition, the Yukon XL got upgraded mirrors, multi-zone climate control, re-done control consoles, and optional DVD system and XM radio.
This full-size SUV has 4 doors and seats 8-9 depending on which of the 13 trims you choose. Think of the SLT as more luxurious than the SLE with standard features that include leather seats. The Yukon XL lets you choose from 5.3 L or 6.0 L V8 powertrains that give you 285, 295, 315, or 325 hp. Towing capacity generally ranges from 8000 to 9000 lbs., although the strongest trims can tow up to 12000 lbs.
Most drivers agree that the XL excels in powertrain selection and interior room. In addition, they appreciate the improvements for the new model year. While critics say the '03 Yukon XL could use better materials, most reviewers like what this domestic SUV offers in modern features and power.
