Dodge Or Bust — My truck is awesome. It does anything I need it to do, street, off-road, towing. The truck runs great, has a lot of balls with the HEMI engine. Fuel economy could be a little better, but you can't expect miracles when driving a truck. The truck is just all out fun.

2003 Dodge Ram 1500 — The Dodge Ram 1500 is a very tough truck! Its frame is extremely strong and can handle most anything you throw at it. Yes it is a fully boxed in frame. The Ram's appearance is also very good looking (especially the sport package Ram with the painted grill). The massive grill makes it look like a beast and makes you not wanna get into a wreck with this machine. the interior is of fair quality. It could be better, its just a little plain but nothing too boring. Performance wise it gets a 4/5. The reason why the vehicle gets that rating is solely because very few people realize how heavy the Ram 1500 actually is. The Ram weighs in at a whopping 6650 LBS!!! For those of you who don't know.... THAT IS MASSIVE. most diesel trucks will weigh about that much. It makes for a slower acceleration, but the HEMI engine helps make up for the slower acceleration since it is quite the powerful motor (and personally my favorite). The brakes of the Ram are quite powerful and really make for fast stopping. the Ram comes with standard four piston brakes. The trucks handling is so so. Once again the handling isn't all it can be due to the weight of the truck. The weight really takes away from the alot of the performance factors. Next on the list is cost of ownership. The Ram really isn't as bad on gas as you might think. Most people get worried when they hear MPG and HEMI in the same sentence. With the HEMI engine I've experienced about 15.5 MPG. But this is only due to a $350 Volant CAI I invested in. Without it you should expect between 11-14 MPG and that can be quite terrifying at the gas pump. Lasty, the truck is somewhat fun to drive, especially if you are wanting to go off road or run something over. | ||

Great Trcuk — This truck will always turn on and run when you need it to. It has always been reliable. It has been used for 10 years and still runs great with 115,000 miles on it. Definitely for someone looking for a trusty and good looking vehicle. Primary Use: Family transportation | ||

ProsVery good running truck. Never had any real major maintenance issues always started always got me home no matter what the weather or road conditions. ConsGas mileage is a little low (13-15 mpg) what can you say "it's gotta a HEMI" Needs 4WD engaged when the roads are snowy/icy cause the tires like too spin.

Thats's One Badass Truck! — I can't say anything bad about this truck, She has been nothing but loyal and hard working for me. Yes I refer to her as a person simply because that's how I've taken care of it since I bought it back in 2003. I have yet to find it's limits I've towed 4 wheelers w/camp trailers at the same time, race car trailers, been hunting in the rocky mountains of Colorado, off road driving, and cruising downtown. I have no doubt that the next owner will love it just as much as I do. Primary Use: Commuting to work | ||

ProsI love my truck. I would switch to a 2500 or a 1500 sxt though the 2500 would be able to pull the trailer more properly which your supposed to have a 2500 or 250 for 5th wheels, Sxt is just more sporty but also get the job done. I wish Dodge would do better on their power steering rack and rust above the fenders.Still i love it. ConsGAS MILEAGE lol. i get 4 days from half a tank which costs me 50 bucks right now but thats only if i go straight to work and back no fooling around. the speakers could be better. Rust is known for dodge and the Power steering rack on the ram trucks fails.

Would You Dodge A Dodge? — Dodge is my favorite truck company excluding Ford Bronco's. I love this truck. It has a V8 engine and a great towing capability. I currently had to get a new drive shaft because it sealed up and wouldn't turn. It's a long distance or work vehicle because of the so much gas it takes in. I still drive it as my main though instead of the Ford Escape we also own. This is 1 tough truck. I've taken it off road with out any tune ups or off road parts on it and it handled fine. I pull a 5th wheel 27ft trailer behind it and a 17ft fiberglass bow rider ski boat. The interior is amazing and each year they get better. So much room inside and really comfy in every way there is. While it is spacious and powerful there is always a price to pay but its good and bad. It was built as a large truck and I love big trucks but there is a problem parking into small areas. Besides this truck I would probably only have a Ford Bronco 1 or 2, a Ford ranger off-road series or a Jeep. But because of everything we own and need to transport this is the perfect vehicle for me. Love My Truck — I use this truck for everything from daily driving, to hauling, to storm chasing. The 5.7 Hemi is more than enough to handle any situation and the 4x4 system is top-notch. I also thing the Ram has the nicest interior of any truck out there. Primary Use: Family transportation | ||

If Dodge Is On Your Radar, This Is A Good Truck, Just Be Ready For Some Issues Especially Rust. — Well I have had this for almost a year now. My truch has the 6 inch Skyjacker easyride suspension kit in it. I love it , it rides better than most pickups and cars do stock. Its fun to drive, looks great, and overall I love it. I have had some issues like changing the cv shafts can be probllemmatic, but the good always has its down sides. The Hemi is powerful, even at 171+ on the clock, But you would never know. God Deal For The Price. — Overall its a great and good looking truck .I have driven to Md and Virginia in this truck a few times and its very comfortable . I never worry about having any trouble with it mechanically.Last year I did replace the radiator and hoses.I would feel very confident to hop in it right now and drive to California.
