2000 GMC Yukon

The GMC Yukon underwent a major redesign at the turn of the millenium that helped shape its appearance and power for the next several model years.  The full-size SUV comes in 4 trims: SLE, SLE 4WD, SLT, and SLT 4WD.  All 4 trims feature a 4.8 L, 275 hp V8 engine with 4 speed automatic transmission.  

The Yukon has 4 doors and room for 8-9 passengers.  Gas mileage generally comes out to 16 mpg in the city and 19 on the highway.  Key revisions include better handling and more room in the interior.

Overall, reviewers applauded the modernization of the SUV.  The stronger powertrain and roomier interior showed the Yukon's appreciable progress despite the relatively bland styling.  In any case, the Yukon's gradual evolution over the years means that if you want better engines and features, go for something newer.
