This was my first "newer" model car. It was fire engine red and looked awesome after a wash and wax. I had it for approx 4 years. It was a bit underpowered, but was probably a good thing at the age I was when I owned it! Would love to drive one again today.Aug 15, 2013

First car I've owned personally. It's held up alright, but damn is it a pain in the ass to fix. My dad is a mechanic, and it's one of the most difficult cars he's ever fixed. The brakes are complete crap. I drive pretty conservatively, but they don't last long and they're not very strong even right after you change them. It seems to have a good engine though. Aug 05, 2011

Great car overall. Was not stock it was played with but no major problems. It was a
DD. Drove about 100 Miles a day. handled great and was fairly quick. The car was

My sons first used car. Not to happy with it have a bad water leak when it rains. thought we found the problem by patching some rust holes under the cowl cover. Still leaks bad. Any help would be greatOct 30, 2010

I love the body style and the sporty look of the Beretta. I Hate the fact that GM used horrible primer and most of the cars look horrible and GM won't do anything about it. GM didn't take alot of pride in making this car but I think they are well worth fixing them up. I love the Beretta!Oct 12, 2010

With an engine out of a 2003 Gran Am GT, this thing is faster then the average Beretta. But its still got a Granny Tranny and is better suited to the highway. Good thing thats what I'm using it for, commuting 200km every couple weeks.Apr 06, 2008

i havent had any major issues so far except for the door latch issue im haveing now. bought it with 117k on it and doesnt burn oil, runs smooth, havent had any issues its been really reliable for me..Oct 18, 2007

Is there any way to fix stripped caliper bolt holes on the steering knuckle and has anyone had any luck with the oversized caliper bolts?
No auto parts places around here sell them and the dumbass who tried to change the brakes before us stripped the caliper bolt holes totally. tried new bolts and the wouldn't tighten at all. Getting frustrated not being able to drive mt baby. GRRR

Identifying which a/c compressor on a '96 V6
My a/c compressor conked about five years ago. It now has an after-market compressor and that one is about to conk too. Mechanic said it's fling freon out the front and wouldn't hold a recharge. Being that it's a rebuilt, I don't have the OEM part number to go looking for it used. It's the 3.1L V6, automatic, standard trim. My favorite used parts shop which I called said there were two models of compressor on the '96. Does anybody know if that's true, and if so, which other GM compressors would fit (this parts store has a '98 Buick Skylark)? Or is the store off base? The guy said something about Model A and I couldn't understand the other one he said on the phone -- it sounded like either Model B, D or T. Napa didn't say anything about two models when I checked with them if they had the compressor. And there definitely wasn't a '96 1/2, right? The used shop said the compressor's label number would start with 1135, but again, my rebuilt compressor doesn't have that number. And an internet search for the numbers on this label yields nothing as I don't know the maker of this compressor. Does part of the VIN identify which compressor is on my car, per chance, as in which model of Beretta I have, IF they indeed changed stuff in the middle of 1996? Thanks a ton in advance, as I'm getting HOT. =)
