Outside of the addition of an Electronic Traction System that was able to control the throttle as well as the brakes, there were no changes to the Mercedes Sl320 in the 1995 model year, its second year of production. Mercedes did drop the price of the vehicle when it was launched following sluggish 1994 sales.
With its 3.2 liter, six cylinder engine, the SL320 is not nearly as powerful as the V8 SL500 or the V12 SL600, but it still owns the road. The biggest complaint among owners centered on the car's lack of cup holders.
Owners also loved the cars handling and the looks it drew, even years after it was brand new. A potential drawback: high maintenance costs, especially as the vehicle aged.

A 5.0 liter V8 power plant powered the car to 315 horsepower. The car was relatively roomy for a roadster, with 37.1 inches of headroom.
One of the only complaints revolved around the positioning of seat controls. "I hit my knee on them constantly," said one driver who otherwise gave the SL500 high marks.

There were no changes to the 1995 Mercedes-Benz SL600 from the 1994 model year, outside of price cuts that German auto maker offered when the vehicle was new. The SL600 was the premier car in the SL-Class of sports roadsters and featured a 6.0 liter, 389 horsepower, V12 engine.
Some problems did crop up over time, however. Most notably, the catalytic converters seemed to kick out earlier than expected on some SL600s.
Still, the vehicle was the prized possession of most drivers. "The performance of the 12-cylinder engine is beyond compare," wrote one owner.
